This office serves the following functions: to promote a welcoming and supportive environment for minorities, to facilitate communication, and assist the efforts of the offices of admissions, faculty and staff development, affirmative action, University personnel services, student activities, student recruitment and retention, financial aid, and community relations; to assist minority students in resolving problems, in learning how to participate fully in University life, in using University programs and resources; to develop and coordinate cultural programs and activities for minority students, faculty, and staff; and to provide minority perspective in policy decisions through appropriate channels.
