Anne and Jerry Schutte, working artists who teach at Arizona State University, will present. Jerry is known for his figurative work while Anne does large scale abstractions. The fact that two artists who live and work together should be so clearly different in their approach to art making is an intriguing demonstration of clearly defined personal visions of art, coexisting without the need for validation through the dominance of one or the other. The talk is part of the Hite Art Institute's "Images and Ideas" series of visiting artists and scholars.
