Second Stage
Alcohol
The Middle Stage of Alcohol Abuse is when you:
- Find it difficult to get through the day without a drink
- Have trouble getting the same "good feelings," regardless of how much you drink
- Deny drinking, drink in secret, and hide alcohol
- Drink in the morning or alone
- Start to hang around people with whom you would not usually hang around
- Get careless about personal welfare, such as drinking and driving, walking alone at night, etc.
- Lose the ambition or drive you had before drinking
- Lose interest in family, friends, school, work, and activities that were once of interest to you
