Student clients will develop skills that help them manage the psychological obstacles that hinder the achievement of their personal and academic goals. (See CAS standards for Counseling Centers—achievement indicator for "Satisfying and Productive Lifestyles.") |
A decrease in symptoms of anxiety as evidenced by an improvement in Beck Anxiety Inventory scores (target=20% reduction at one month interval, or 30% reduction at the two month interval from intake). Counseling Center Evaluation Questionnaire (CCEQ) items #5 and #6 will be answered at a 5.5 average score level (items relate to anxiety/stress levels and to helpfulness of counseling in general). |
Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) --first given at intake --retest at either one month interval or two month interval Counseling Center Evaluation Questionnaire (CCEQ) --given to ongoing clients seen a minimum of four times |
May 15— order BAI's. June 10—orient staff to new form. Aug. 21—begin using BAI's for all fall semester intakes. Oct. 1st—CC staff to begin giving repeat BAI's,to continue until Dec. 18. Jan. 5th—Vince to collect and analyze data. Jan. 11—Vince to distribute results to staff and CL office/VPSA. |
1). The average score of students tracked during the Fall 2006 improved from 34 (Severe) to 14.3 (Mild), a 58% reduction. 2). CCEQ scores averaged 5.4 on item #5 and 6.2 on item #6, which appears to corroborate the BAI reduction. |
